Pine Street: Berger Excavating has completed the underground utility work for the Pine Street reconstruction project. Road rehabilitation work will begin today, Friday, September 16th.

The contractor will begin to remove driveways, damaged sidewalks, and excess dirt and gravel from the roadway. Grading for the new road will follow, along with the placement of new curbs, sidewalk, and asphalt pavement. Restoration of lawns will be the last item to be completed and we should close out the project by the end of October.

Access to driveways will be affected at times and we will keep you posted as to the schedule of the curb and paving work.

Thank you for your patience during this project. Feel free to contact Robert Steele, Capital Projects Department at (847) 486-5636 if you have any questions or concerns.

Rollwind Road: Berger Excavating will continue with transferring the individual water services from each home to the new water main next week. The morning of the water service work, the contractor knock on your door and to notify you of the pending shutoff and give you ample time to use your water. The shutoff will last for 1-2 hours on average. Once installed, they will ask you to flush your system, and if no one is home, they will use an outside hose bib connection to flush the new service. If you have discolored water, please open your faucets and flush out the lines and the water should clear up. Next week, Berger Excavating is also looking to work on storm sewer work.
